Serve was born out of the idea that it should be easier for people to pay people. Whether you’re splitting a lunch bill, placing an order with a small business, or paying the babysitter, you may be stuck using cash or other high-fee, less secure payment methods.

It can be a hassle. We thought there had to be a better way.

We decided to take the cash and cards in your wallet and make them virtual. Sounds crazy. But, we really believed the Internet could make person-to-person payments easy. You can do almost everything else online or by mobile phone instantly and effortlessly, so why not manage your money the same way?

Serve Today
That was just the beginning. Since that original idea, we’ve come up with a few new ones. Subaccounts let you easily share money with your friends and family. Our negotiation feature allows you to suggest new amounts when your friends send or request money. The Serve card that’s tied to your account means you can still make purchases in stores. The support of American Express means we can offer top-notch security features.
